About Our Program

The Stay Local Boat MA transient referral program is operated by Massachusetts Marine Trades Association (MMTA) [boatma.com]. The program was established to encourage seasonal boaters to travel to various destination marinas along the beautiful coastline of Massachusetts and in return receive a discount on dockage for doing so. Boating means business for Massachusetts, as boaters travel around the coastline; they are spending money shopping, dining, lodging and more. For every $1 spent on dockage it equates to nearly $4 for the local community.

If you are a seasonal guest at one of the participating marinas you are eligible for a dockage discount at any of the other participating marinas. The program is also designed to encourage group travel by offering a larger discount based on the total amount of boats traveling.

Founded in 1964 the MMTA is a non-profit trade association representing and supporting the recreational boating industry in Massachusetts. The economic impact of boating in Massachusetts is $4.4 Billion Dollars with over 1,000 businesses and 20,000 employees. Please visit us at boatma.com for information on our association, including member listings, program information and the Massachusetts tide charts.
